Recently, we received the visit to “Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club” by students of the “Golf Course Management” Promotion 2011/2012, held at the CIO Mijas.
During the visit, students were accompanied by the teacher Don Carlos Lima, the module “Golf Course Maintenance,” and could see the course as well as maintenance facilities, which were accompanied by the Greenkeeper, José Antonio Garcia, and the mechanic, Francisco Vázquez Herrera. It was explained, among other things, the reason of the design and construction of the maintenance house, in form of a “Cortijo” as well as the different units. Similarly, these students showed much interest with the explanations of “Fran” as to the regulation of the mowing height of the machines, as well as those of Jose Antonio in relation to irrigation control is performed from the central computer. They could also see all the machinery used to maintain the golf course.
They were also showed the clubhouse facilities and the Technical Environment, Ana Arroyo, where she explained everything about the RULES Safety, OHSAS 18001, Quality, Q 188,001, and Environment, ISO 14001, which meets this field within its management policy.
