Handicap Adjustments 2015

Handicap Adjustments 2015

Handicap 2015 Small

Starting on January 1st 2015 shall come into force the Annual Review of Handicaps (RAH) of the  EGA 2013-2015 of the Spanish Golf Federation.

By this review there will be two types of players, those with Active Handicap and those with Non Active Handicap. On January 1st 2014 were all handicaps activated, but to keep this state in 2015 will have to submit 4 valid scorecards in 2014 (the formats foursome, greensome and greensome chapman will not count to complete the 4 annual scorecards).

In 2015, to reactive the handicap of a player with a non activated, he will need to hand in 3 valid scorecards during the ongoing year. (Will play with 0 handicap and receive a new handicap based on the results of those 3 scores)

The Competition Committee may determine for each competition if its open only for activated handicaps or if non activated may also participate, determining if these have access to prizes or not.

Beginning January 1st 2015 there will be an automatic Annual Review of Handicaps (RAH) for players who have submitted at least 8 scorecards between seasons and at least 4 in each season / year. Here the average handicap played will be determined and compared with the European Average Stableford Score (RSEP):

Exact Handicap (RSEP) Average score of the year
< 4,5 33
4,5 – 8 32,5
8,1 -11,4 32
11,5 – 15 31,5
15,1 – 18,4 31
18,5 – 26,4 30,5
26,5 – 36 30

Depending on how close or far away is the average result of the player, RAH established if necessary to maintain or modify your handicap. If the average stableford score points of the player is 3 or more above the average, the player has been better than expected and his handicap will be cutted. And if this average is 3 or more below, the player has been worse than expected and his handicap therefore go up.

Average score of the year Exact handicap of the player Adjust applied
Between -2,9 & +2,9 Satisfactory 0
Between +3 & +4,9 Too high Cut 1,0
>4,9 Extremely high Cut 2,0
Between -3,0 & -4,9 Too low Goes up 1,0
> -4,9 Extremely low Goes up 2,0
