Please find attached the update of Los Arqueros Golf Local Rules and Competition Rules.

Please take note of the 3rd clauses (Entry signup 48 hours before), 9 (“Marshals” marks the pace of the game) and 13th (Mobile Phones).

Los Arqueros Golf Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds. Defined by white stakes, white lines and all perimeter fences and walls (inside of the wall).
Internal Out of Bounds. During the play of hole 8, the part of the course located to the right by holes 5 and 6, defined by white stakes is out of bounds. When playing holes 5 and 6 these stakes are not applicable and can be considered immovable obstructions.

2. Water Hazards. Are defines by yellow stakes and if lateral water red stakes.
Dropping Zones. If a ball is in or it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in the water hazard, on holes 6 and 13 the player may,
(i) proceed under Rule 26;
(ii) as an additional option, drop a ball under a penalty of one stroke, in the marked dropping zone
iii) If there is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the water hazard on hole 13, the player may play another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options in Rule 26-1.

 

3. Ground Under Repair. “GUR” Defined by blue stakes. Play Prohibited.
If a players ball lies in the area, or it interferes with the players stance or the area of his intended swing, the player must take relief.

4. Embedded Ball.
Relief Rule 25-2 is extended to anywhere through the green.

5. Obstructions.
Movable obstructions. Stones in bunkers.
Immovable obstructions. Flower beds, new planted trees and bushes as defined by stakes, relief must be taken.

6. Distance-Measuring Devices.
For all play a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only, a device that measures other features (e.g. gradient) is in breach of Rule 14-3

Temporary Local Rule
Only in operation when notified by the marshal

Preferred Lies – Winter Rules. A ball lying on a closely mown area through the green may be lifted, without penalty, and cleaned.
Before lifting the player must mark its position. Having lifted the ball he must place it on a spot within the card length of and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay, that is not in a hazard or on a green.
A player may place his ball only once, and it is in play when it has been placed (Rule 20-4). If the ball fails to come to rest on the spot placed Rule 20-3d applies.
If a player fails to mark the position of the ball before lifting it or moves the ball in any other manner, such as rolling it with a club, he incurs a penalty of one stroke.

Competition Rules
All competitions will be conducted in strict conformity with the Rules of Golf, and the “Los Arqueros Golf Local Rules”

1. GENERAL.
The Committee in charge of all competitions is the “Los Arqueros Golf Competition Committee” “The Committee”. The committee will appoint someone to set up the course for each competition, this will normally be the greens staff. The competition tees will for men be the yellow stones, and for ladies the red stones.

2. ELIGIBILITY.
Entry will normally be limited to Members of Los Arqueros Golf, who hold an Active Spanish Federation Handicap. Other members can play to obtain a valid round for handicap purposes. If tee times permit, a members guest may play up to four times a year but will be outside the competition.

3. ENTRY/REGISTRATION.
 Entry to competitions is via the signup sheet on the club notice board. Entry should be completed 48 hours before the competition, late entry may or may not be possible. Entry fees are normally 5 euro per 18 holes, unless notified differently on the signup sheet. Entry fees must be paid even by a no show unless the caddy master is informed.

4. FORMAT.
The Committee will determine the type of Competition e.g. Stroke Play, Stableford, Match Play, handicap allowance. Unless stated there will be only one handicap class.

5. TIMES OF STARTING AND GROUPS.
Once notified should not be changed.

6. HANDICAPS.
Maximum allowances will be 26.4 for men and 36 for ladies.

7. DECISION OF TIES.
The Committee will decide ties by lowest playing handicap, secondly by a scorecard count back.

 

8. PRIZES.
Eligibility for prizes will be limited to players with an active Spanish Federation handicap. The Committee will announce in advance the prizes that are to be awarded in the competition. For a normal weekly mens competition this will be 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%, of the entry fees. However in a large field there may be more prizes and/or categories.

 

9. MARSHALS.
The directions of a marshal regarding pace of play must be followed. Failure to follow these will result in: – 1st offence a warning, 2nd offence one stroke penalty, 3rd offence disqualification. Further any player, team, or group, loosing two holes on the group in front, without good reason may be penalised two strokes per player.

10. SUSPENSIONS OF PLAY
due to bad weather as directed by a Marshal, the Captain or their representative, must be followed.

11. THE DRESS CODE
of Los Arqueros Golf Club must be followed.

12. ETIQUETTE.
 Any player may be disqualified  for a serious breach of etiquette.

13. MOBILE PHONES.
The ringing of a mobile phones during a round is not permitted, (penalty one stroke).

14. CARDS.
All score cards must be returned to the caddie master immediately after a completed round.
