Los Arqueros Golf Country Club

Los Arqueros Golf has implemented ISO 14.001 environmental certification since 2003, being the first golf course on the Costa del Sol to get it and the second in Andalucia. This system forces us to be disciplined in maintaining the natural environment around us, in addition to the magnificent mission to improve its environment every year, such as the recovery of native trees. To perform a task of this type is required to carry an inventory of our native plant species, something we do since 2003.

The Tourist Board of the Costa del Sol (Spain), an autonomous body of local government whose objectives are to define policies for tourism development, has recently published a comprehensive study on the "Golf Tourism in Andalusia" that includes many features of interest to the general public as well as the professional. Some of these are:

Walking is one of the best preventive therapies can be performed. And if it is playing golf, the benefits multiply. Multiple scientific studies show that just by walking 30 minutes a day or more could be reduced from 20% to 40% the number of deaths from cardiovascular disease.

On Sunday May the 27th of 2012 we celebrate our I Pro-Am Seve Ballesteros Foundation at Los Arqueros Golf with the following content:
-The Pro-Am will be limited to 25 teams (Pro + 3 amateurs).
- The amateur may enroll the Entry List at the Club or by e-mail.
- The Professional will be distributed in teams by draw
- Inscription dead line on May 22, 2012 at 18:00.
- The tee off  time is at 09:00 h.
- The format will be four ball best ball scoring two of the team.

Another new classic is set to this golf course located in Benahavis,  which  forms part of the Seve Ballesteros collection designs, Los Arqueros Golf. The traditions are beginning but you never know when they finish ...

Los Arqueros Golf was visited by students taking the course EADE Greenkeeping. According to his teacher, Arqueros Golf is a reference in this area because of their certificates of Environment ISO-14001, UNE 188,001 Quality and Health and Safety OHSAS 18001.  Recently, we received the visit to "Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club" by students of the "Golf Course Management" Promotion 2011/2012, held at the CIO Mijas.

Once again, Los Arqueros Golf has successfully passed the three external audits certification with the subsequent award of the certificate of the three implanted management systems: Environment (ISO 14001), Quality (Q 188.001) and Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001).
Obtaining these certificates involves a great effort from the staff of Los Arqueros Golf, with their perseverance and good work improving year after year aiming for new goals to try to be always better than the previous year.

Last week, without disturbing the play, Los Arqueros Golf fertilized its 18 Fairways with the best and most modern fertilizer for turf fairways: Nova Tec N Max 25-5-5, with a total of 8.000 Kg. And its effect is already being felt on the turf, which quality and colour is in superb conditions.

Between the 8th of March and 2nd of April, the young painter from Marbella will exhibit his paintings in the Members Lounge at Los Arqueros Golf Club.
Although his profession is a Traffic Police Man (Guardia Civil) he has been concern about painting for many years. An exhibition we recommend here from Los Arqueros Golf which opens with a cocktail at 19:00 hours next Thursday 8th of March.
